Founded in 1629, the Musikkollegium Winterthur is among Europe’s oldest musical institutions. The orchestra gives around 70 concerts per year, some 40 of them in the Stadthaus Winterthur. The repertoire of the Musikkollegium Winterthur extends from the Baroque to contemporary music, focusing mainly on the Classical and early Romantic periods. Famous soloists and conductors – such as András Schiff, Christian Tetzlaff, Isabelle Faust, Maurice Steger, Michael Sanderling, Fazil Say, Sol Gabetta and Andreas Ottensamer, to name but a few – are regular guest performers with the Musikkollegium Winterthur.
