Some 100 musicians from 20 countries play in the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, performing 50 different programmes in over 100 concerts per season. Over the past two decades, the orchestra has appeared in more than 70 cities in 14 countries. Over 40 CD recordings document its journey to the top. The complete recordings of all the Beethoven, Mahler, Brahms and Schubert symphonies, and most recently the Ravel box, have aroused great interest.

For almost 20 years David Zinman was instrumental in shaping the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. He was its chief conductor until the end of the 2013/14 season, and is now conductor laureate. Lionel Bringuier has been the orchestra’s chief conductor and music director since the 2014/15 season.
